Can you recommend the best way of finding a good doctor and a dentist?

One way is to ask your friends. Ask about their doctor (huisarts) or dentist (tandarts) and try to get a phone number or even a recommendation from them if possible. Usually if it's a good doctor it is very difficult to get to them but it worth trying. Hope it helps :-)

Try this: http://www.campushuisarts.nl/ They do speak English and are quite used to people from different countries. You can enrol also if you have no connetion with university.

It is true Alina and it is a good option I'm sure, although you have to live around the vacinity of the Uni to go there. I tried registering there (via online rego) and afterwards a nice, helpful doctor phoned me to say they could not accept me as I lived in Almelo. Fair enough I guess, but a disappointment nonetheless. They did come up with an alternative suggestion in Almelo though :)
I would normally suggest to go and see the doctor/dentist and talk to them and see if you "get along" (as I think that is important), but that does not seem so possible, or encouraged, here in NL.
You could try your gemeente - they will have contact details for health practitioners surely? Good luck.

Finding a GP is not easy, I asked one of my friends, Kevin for helping to find expats-friendly huisartsen (GP, doctors) and as he said: "The results have been kind of disappointing. The feeling I get from the huisartsen I've talked to about this is that they see expats as demanding and sometimes unreasonably so."

But I have also the good news, Kevin said: "I think that when I start practicing, in the beginning of 2010, I may have a special interest in this group, as an expat myself. "

We only need to wait a few more months and we will have 'our" own doctor:))

We don't have any real friends, we are new here. Thank you for your suggestions, I will try this website from Akina and i hope Kevin will be a good doctor!

there is two or three doctor on campus, and all of them are not typical Dutch doctors( as you probably heard a lot about doctors here). Good luck! :-)

AlKhabir, I will be adding soon the information about "my" dentist, I just happen to know that he may be able to take new patients. Please check this website in a few days, if you are still interested in finding a good dentist.
