I know how difficult was for me (still is, as I am a cijfer person, not a woord one) to learn Dutch and I thought it would be nice to share our resources and information regarding this subject.
My best experience with Dutch language was with ROC van Twente but I am not sure whether they still provide this course. Anyway, I will add the info I have and I would be glad to see some more :-)

Here is a first interesting link: http://www.expertisecentrumnt2.nl/staat/staat2008/
It contains information about NT2, the official Dutch exam for their language (Staatsexamen Nederlands als Tweede Taal - Exam for Dutch language as the second language).

I agree with you Margo, about the grammar. ROC van Twente has very good teachers - thank you Bernadette and Marie Louise! - so my grammar is rather good. I still have to work on my woordenschat (vocabulary)..

Good advice Margo, this is also my experience, even if sometimes I feel uncertain about my ability to structure correct sentences, I know that speaking Dutch is the best practice. Cristina, Bernadette was also my teacher, but only for two months.

Here is a page with heaps of links to on-line Dutch language sites, with mini courses, exercises, vocab lists etc. You might find them useful?...
http://www.onzetaal.nl/koppling/dutch.php
One that is not listed is Byki (Bkyi 4 Express) You might have to do a search for Byki to find it.
Tell us if you have any success with any of these.

Hallo Cristina,

I agree with Margo the best is to speak the language..en don't worry about the mistakes. Take everyone you can en just try to speak dutch ! is the best advice.

I got my first dutch lessons in Amsterdam: www.bltc.nl. Great intensive courses en good teachers !
After that I moved to Enschede en I made some courses by: www.talentwente.nl. Small groups en personal approach.

By the citytown hall (next to the station) they have a great brochure "Doe mee, werk mee, leef mee in Esnchede" where you can find great websites with a lot of information. The brochure is mostly in dutch en some information is translate in other languages....go to take one !!

Follow Up 4 course of UTwente starts already on 3rd of February. It's not only for the family members of UT employees, anybody (on the right level of Dutch) can join. Contact the TaalCoördinatiePunt secretary, Lianne Peper, tel. (053) 489 2040 or email tcp@utwente.nl. Success :-) (I think I am going to join too)
