I heard about Twitter and see here a word Twitter. Do you use it and how? Help me to understand the idea of twitter, please.

I like your question, my friend says that you can use it to stay in touch with friends when you don't want to write emails, it's like SMS but more people can see in one time. I tried and still have a twitter account but it's not my thing. I'm sure somebody else will find useful. Let's wait for more answers.

You might find this article useful. While it doesn't go into great detail about what Twitter is, it gives some information on how to use it. It rightfully points out that a lot of people sign-up and then just leave because nowhere is it really explained what everything means and what you do.

Good luck!

The link was broken but I found this article from digitizd : http://www.digitizd.com/2010/01/16/get-started-with-twitter-in-6-ea...
It's really a good step by step guide. Thank you Heather for finding it!

How odd! Knowing my luck I probably typed something wrong but glad you found it all the same. :)

What is the best practice: should we follow everyone back on Twitter? I noticed that I am getting random followers and the question is, “Should I follow everyone back?” whether or not I know someone.
Now I take it as if someone makes a friend request, its flattering and I think common courtesy to accept it. What do you do?

It really is up to you. I tend to only follow the people I want to follow, as otherwise you have thousands of update messages showing on your front page. As for the random followers, it may be someone has searched for a term and come across a tweet you posted that matched or they can just be random people who are hoping you will follow them back.
