Wegdam lies with its back turned towards the more famous Weldam near Goor. It does not boast much of a garden, but it is an interesting and easily overseen location.

Weldam is an old estate in Goor. The gardens are mainly late 19th century, but the structure of the garden (the waterways) dates back to the 17th century.

Henk, the various shades of green here are beautiful . Am I correct in thinking that it would be a lovely spot to wander and just enjoy Nature ... even if 'one's photographic skills aren't very high :-)?

Interesting blog you have, Henk. And photos too. I am a disaster regarding gardens..
I like your photos of historical gardens - beautiful atmosphere and so serene - old ones knew better than us how to do it - or they just had more time?

No, no secret about it. My partner is Dutch. And I love mist. And horses. But I do miss the sun, the mountains and the warm summers..

I understand very well. It is much more difficult to find a job in this area than in the West. Especially if you are not Dutch (which is not your case). Here there are less companies which need English/other languages speakers. Ah, life..

Ah, Henk, you cannot be too romantic about it.. I am joking but the truth is that it is a very nice area. Green and quiet with nice places to walk and relax. Where do you live, if I may ask?
