This will be Inside Twente's second picnic. And as picnics go will be a relaxed affair to meet some of the people that we interact with on the site (put a face to the name). We will be bringing our own food (but to share). It's a wonderful opportunity to try the delicious food that people from different countries bring. You also need to bring your favourite drinks. If you have a musical instrument bring it along as well :-). People are sure to bring games eg badmington, so be prepared to exert yourself a little too.

The following info was the last posted. There will be more after this weekend re directions on how to get there (a short drive or bicycle ride from the Centrum). Look forward to meeting you there :-). Sunday 14th June 2009.

After much discussion (and coffee drinking:-))) the Events Committee has decided that the !!!! FUN IN THE SUN PICNIC!!!! will be held in RECREATIEPARK HET RUTBEEK .

You’ll find heaps of information about the venue on the Net, but the following is just some general info which I gleaned from one of the sites. It’s a place for young and old, singles and families alike; so mark the date and venue in your diary and make sure you’re there to help make this INSIDETWENTE picnic as successful as the last!!

General Information
Het Rutbeek is a recreational area of approximately 120 Hectares to the South West of Enschede, easily accessible by car or bicycle.

In 1975 the layout of Het Rutbeek,as a recreational area, began around an erratic former sand excavation lake. Now it is a transformed area of 120 hectares with trees; water areas; beaches; laying meadows; grass land and leisure facilities.

The area is made up of one fen and five different beaches. There is a foot path around the lake. A kiosk is available and there are toilets situated around the site.

The swimming water has a sectioned swimming area with a depth of approximately 0,50 meters. Outside of this area the water goes to a depth of 2,50 meters.

Dogs are not permitted.

And don't forget to add your SUNSCREEN and SUNHATS to the 'goodies' you'll be packing in the picnic basket :-)).
