Estimates by the Energy Savings Trust in the UK suggest that they can create 8 per cent savings on average – a reasonable amount off the average bill if you ask us.
The devices are worth it on a number of levels. In most cases you will save because you have changed your bad habits. In turn, this means using less electricity, something that’s good for the world around us.
Some even include specific plugs for appliances that link to the main monitor; this allows people to see the amount of power one specific appliance uses and is very beneficial if you’re looking for the items that really feast on fossil fuel.

Some suppliers even will offer you monitors for free on specific tariffs, however one thing to be aware of here is that they will also offer you a higher price for a unit of energy to recover the cost. Purchasing a monitor separately can be a far better way to go in the long run and allows you to lower costs.
In a lot of cases, many new meter boxes come with the monitors as standard. This has been encouraged by governments to allow people a more transparent view of where their energy costs are and where they can make cuts.
Energy monitors are very beneficial and something that we will see more and more of in the near future and rightly so.
