Recently, I have changed the way that I plan and dream. I have been doing things in a very intentional way. My word for the year so far has been just that. Intentional. Having dreams and aspirations without intent is fine, but nothing is promised or purposed. So let’s see what it takes to get from dreaming to making moves
Dear high school students: If you’re not dreaming BIG and not setting your goals or have an action plan, you’re not really serious about making your dreams come true and turn them into reality says Tim Bowers in the following video. Your plan of action is the GPS that will navigate you toward your destination. You really can’t afford NOT to have an action plan. Create a plan. Set your goals and take action!
By being intentional with the way that I think, there are always action steps coming along with whatever it is that I am thinking. I have been creating very specific and strategic plans, and the fruits of my labor have been arriving and “showing out” in many ways. I find it helpful to create borders along with steps so that I always have room to take a relaxed or strict approach with whatever it may be that I am working towards.
Dear students, asking a girl to prom can be pretty nerve-racking, even if you think she’s likely to say yes. There are all kinds of doubts swimming around in your head: what if she says no? What if I get nervous and mess up? What if I come across as weird?
HOW ARE YOU GOING TO ASK?
If you’re trying to come up with a creative and cute idea to ask her to prom, that’s always a good choice, though I would only recommend it if you’re confident she’ll say yes (or don’t care if you get turned down). If you’re looking for cute ideas, I suggest you read my post that has some suggestions. I’m going to be assuming that you’re just going to walk up and ask her, however.
HOW TO ASK HER
If you know the girl well, you can make small talk with her beforehand. If you’ve barely (or never) spoken to her, just launch into it. You don’t need a fancy lead-in — just be forward and ask, “Will you go to prom with me?” and go from there. I wouldn’t even recommend asking if she has a date already — if you ask her, “do you have a date yet?”, it’s pretty clear what you’re going to ask next. You might as well get it over with. “Speak kindly to AND about yourself. No more “I’m so stupid” or “This is a dumb question” or “I am so behind!” Words create LIFE. ~Sandi Krakowski~
It’s well-known knowledge that negative self-talk comes from negative talking to a child hammering in that little one’s head like “you’re so stupid!” “dummy!” “you’ll never amount to anything!”
Have you ever heard those words as a child? Do you find yourself believing those words? It doesn’t have to be a parent it can be any person that’s supposed to be a role model to you. I know that as a child I grew up with soooooo many negative words.
It took me quite a long time to finally realize that I am not stupid or dumb or anything else negative that I was told as a child. And I know I am not the only one, in my work as GED education instructor, I have seen plenty high school dropouts with low self-esteem as a direct result of belittling their capabilities in their childhood.
It’s verbal abuse and it’s amazing how many adults abuse children verbally. Continue reading “Speak Kindly To AND About Yourself”
In today’s ever changing technology business professionals as well as students want to have the gadgets that make daily life easier. Gadgets such as smartphones, digital cameras, and tablets, come in quite handy for business, for learning, and for pleasure.
We, the staff of MyCareerTools, a website about GED classes, advise students to use gadgets as much as possible. They are not helpful, maybe, but can make routine tasks fun.
However, it’s hard to figure out which ones to buy. That’s where this list comes in. These items can be purchased for not much money, especially at sites like Newegg. So, what are the top 3 gadgets on the market for business professionals? You’re about to find out.
Samsung Galaxy Note
The Galaxy Note is basically a hybrid-both smartphone and tablet computer. Needless to say, it’s one of the hottest gadgets on the market right now. First off, the Galaxy Note has a 1.6 GHZ dual core processor with 16 GB of memory, which can be expanded to 32GB.
It currently runs on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system but will be upgraded to the newer Android operating system very soon. There are also the standard features on any phone or tablet computer-a 2 mega pixel camera on the front and an 8 mega pixel camera on the back. Whatever you use it for; this gadget has the respect of its competitors because of its features, which are many.
